Our next sail, in Guanabara Bay off Rio de Janeiro was already a winner with its magnificent waterside view even if some of it was a bit misty in the early morning light:
I was able to get a pretty good shot at some rock climbers hard at work on Sugarloaf – circled in red below:
But our real targets were humpback whales – and at first we got the usual tantalizing but insufficient glimpses:
Vitor put his drone to work and boy did we win the lottery – a mom and her baby:!
Meanwhile, off the city of Barnstable in northern Maine, USA, my daughter and her family were trying their luck at whalewatching. Here are their results :
