Panna was the site of the main reason I decided to take a chance on traveling to India -it is where the Panna Tiger Reserve lies. It is a protected area of 210 square miles and has about 50 resident tigers. The reserve has the last tiger habitat range in the Northern Madhya Pradesh region of India. Upfront I will tell you that this photo below was the only shot I got of these beautiful but very elusive creatures:
Still, I loved Panna for its golden landscapes:
There was wildlife to be seen –
And glorious birds. I photographed so many one of my fellow travelers gave me a new knick- name: BIRDGIRL:
The accommodations were also so lovely and fit right in with the theme of the reserve:
In addition, I had one of the most delicious meals with a stunningly set table in the main lodge:
Nirvana.
