No, I didn’t get to stay at the Taj Mahal but it was part of my view:
I did spend some magical hours at India’s most iconic point of interest and it is spectacular. My home base, however was also jaw-dropping – the Oberoi Amarvilas. Located less than 1700 feet from the Taj Mahal, the Oberoi Amarvilas is awash in Mughal inspired designs with seeming unending vistas of fountains, terraced lawns, reflection pools and pavilions. Despite being well booked during my visit, The New Yorker in me was so pleased to find so many people-free areas, where I could take deep breaths and photograph to my hearts content with no other sounds than the trickle of water, singing of birds and the sighs of the breeze in the trees. Take a look:
My room echoed the sereness with warm wood floors ands sea inspired blues
Many deep cleansing breaths were taken.
