Within the Parqu da Tijuca is the Tijuca Forest which is referred to as the “jungle within.”   It is a large urban rainforest located inside the city limits of Rio deJaneiro.  Considered the world’s largest urban forest,  it is full of a  diverse variety of lush flora and enchanting waterfalls. remnants of the Atlantic Rainforest that once surrounded Rio.   Enjoy these stunning photos of the ultra-talented Vitor Marigo:

It may look dense and remote, but the Forest is full of life – besides the trees and plants there is a plethora of wildlife – more on that in next week’s post!
