As is my tradition/obsession, I poured over some research as to the significance of an 11th anniversary, and what I have found seems to neatly dovetail with the arc of my experiences.
Forging steel
STEEL – The 11th anniversary’s steel symbolism signifies that a subject has moved past initial fragility to become strong, resilient, and flexible, capable of bending without breaking through life’s pressures, much like steel forged in fire. It represents a decade-plus of forged bonds, overcoming challenges, and building a solid foundation, symbolizing unbreakable commitment and perseverance that has matured and proven its durability. Steel is one of the strongest, most durable metals, reflecting an ability to withstand hardships, and life’s tough realities.
Life of late has certainly been rocky – globally there is increased unrest, conflicts, turmoil and tragedies across many levels. Personally there have also been a number of obstacles and periods of sadness.
Yet, rather than become consumed with distress, I have made it my goal to tune out the noise that I cannot control, which isn’t an easy task. However, pushing through the morass can bring us through to new horizons of joy. This imagery is reflected in other traditional symbols of the 11th anniversary:
Turquoise: Represents protection, healing, and tranquility and balance.
Tulips: symbolize grace and the beginning of a new chapter.
Morning Glories: having a brief lifespan, serve as a reminder to cherish every new day and moment..
So as we start a new year round the sun I will continue my search for new journeys and discoveries and hopefully will attain new personal and spiritual connections that can bring enlightenment, happiness and bliss. I will share these moments with you and hope that my words and photos bring these feelings to you as well.
I have learned so much – but am still chasing dreams.
